"Cartoonist Terry Sedgwick crafts concrete garden statues for people who want an alternative to the traditional, cute garden gnome. His specialities include a 'massacre' series of gnomes which have been run over, shot or stabbed, a hostage gnome, a suicidal gnome, a gnome holding a grenade, one with an axe in its head and another which has been hit by a mower blade.
Terry also makes gnome characters such as Bruce, the tough garden gnome, 'Big Ralph', the bikie gnome, Ashbury, the hippy gnome, Nostryll, the Tassie Troll, Patrick the punk leprechaun; and various animals from koalas and possums to winged dragons. His bird baths feature cats lurking around the base or holding up the bath and his planters are decorated with Australian bush creatures, gnomes, dragons and fairies.
P.S. The segment attracted more comment and controversy than just about anything else we have featured on the "Burke's Backyard" TV programme. Phone calls and letters of complaint about the violent nature of  Terry Sedgwick's creations flowed in after the segment aired.
In all some 1000 complaints were received. However these were far outweighed by viewers who found the segment and the gnomes entertaining and amusing."
